Unlike most hyper patriotic, “rah rah” arrangements of this song, this is a more contemplative, introspective version of the classic ode to American freedom and liberty – reflecting the original tenor of democracy (as apposed to the distorted present day version – don’t get me started!). This arrangement incorporates some contemporary harmony, but still remains true to the songs classic sensibilities. This chart works well with both small and larger ensembles.
NOTE: There are two wrong notes in the intro on the published version of this arrangement! The D naturals in the tenor and bass parts (bars one and three) should be D flats.
