NEW YORK VOICES

“New York Voices” is the group’s debut CD, which was released on GRP Records in 1989. NYV’s roots were split between straight ahead jazz, and “fusion” as we used to call it. This CD embraces both the acoustic and electric side of NYV, and connects back to their early influences, such as The Manhattan Transfer, Al Jarreau and LH&R. This is from the group’s quintet days, before Lauren had joined the band. In addition to Kim, Darmon and Peter, Caprice Fox and Sara Krieger round out the front line.
